If you want to treat yourself or someone to a festive pamper session, Anesis Spa is an excellent place to indulge yourself in a treatment or two!
Situated in Clapham Common, London overlooking the park, the spa transports you from the hustle and bustle of everyday to a tranquil and serene haven.
On entering you are greeted by a welcoming and friendly staff who are happy to assist you in your every needs. After completing a short personal information sheet whilst sinking into their large, plush, snake-skinned sofas, you are ushered upstairs where you are taken into a private spa room, draped in dark greys and black walls with calming light overhead.
After changing into a heavy, but comforting robe, I was treated to the Crystal Clear Super Deluxe Microdermabrasion and Oxygen Skin Therapy Facial as my main concern was to lighten some moderate scarring on my cheeks. My colleague chose to have the Elemis Modern Skin Facial.
Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion is the spa’s fastest route to achieving beautiful rejuvenated skin and to get problematic skin on the road to recovery from acne scarring, blocked pores, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage. It smoothes, regenerates collagen and elastin formation and visibly perks up dull, tired complexions. The end result is a tauter, fresher, more radiant and significantly younger-looking skin.
The treatment starts by showering the skin with a controlled stream of finely ground crystals, pumped through a sterile, disposable hand-piece placed directly onto the skin surface. Together, the speed and abrasive nature of the crystals delicately remove dead skin cells layer by layer. The Crystal Clear machine does make a consistent humming noise throughout the treatment and some may find having the machine on the skin surface may tickle slightly. The crystals are then vacuumed back up along with the exfoliated layers of skin, encouraging collagen regrowth, boosting circulation and improving lymphatic drainage along the way. The gentle vacuum action also achieves an immediate lifting effect on tired muscles so skin looks instantly rejuvenated.
We then experienced the Oxygen Skin Calm facial which has been described as the, ‘perfect non-surgical treatment that breathes new life into dull, tired complexion.’ This innovative, beautifying facial blasts pure oxygen and skin restructuring actives deep into the epidermis, dramatically rejuvenating skin and visibly plumping out lines and wrinkles to produce a clearer, healthier and more youthful-looking complexion.Together the intensity of the oxygen pressure and the active ingredients of the serum can help to improve elasticity and firmness of the skin.
This treatment is perfect for anyone who longs for healthier looking skin or who suffers from acne-prone skin as the oxygen kills surface bacteria which is a contributing factor to acne conditions. With regular treatments, lines and wrinkles are dramatically reduced, as the skin’s structure is repaired and reinforced.
The final part of the treatment is the ten minute Crystal Clear Mini Lift Mask. This cooling mask, made of Diatomaceous Earth and wheat protein, quickly calms the skin right down, setting to a peel-off latex style mask that cleans, lifts, firms, smoothes, softens and hydrates.
After having my face pampered for 75 minutes, I did see a difference in my skin as the texture and my complexion was improved. However, as I only had one treatment I did not see a dramatic change in the reduction of my scars. The therapist has advised that with further treatments this will improve.
