The Cutting Edge of Termite Eyewear!

Since my dual love affair with cat eye and butterfly shaped sunglasses, I’ve become more accustomed to the beauty of sporting stylish shades. I’ve learned what shapes work for me and in the end I chose the cat eye to help me give my complexion a more oval appearance. And just when I thought I got it all figured out in the eyewear department, I was totally blown away once again by a new brand and their incredible new style. I just love it when a good business idea comes in the form of creativity and cleverness! That’s certainly the case for Termite Eyewear! This brand produces original and unique sunglasses out of recycled materials all thanks to the brilliance of designer pair Natalie Finch and Patricia Williams, its founders! And thanks to them I’m seriously thinking of going for a new shopping spree accessory wise! I’m actually wondering how I hadn’t come across this cool before!

Their ambitious final year project as students has led them to become partners and entrepreneurs of a thriving business that has become part of the fashion world lending it’s fabulous products to labels such as Jonathan Saunders, Calvin Klein, Ragged Priest and Celine. Theirs is the first most significant brand when it comes to eco-friendly materials used in fashion design! They described their efforts to show that this approach can result in something “challenging, exciting and desirable, not frumpy and boring!”

And I’ll tell you, they’re fabulous! Once you get to know these sunglasses, you’ll always recognize them, by Termites base frame that in my opinion gives off a kind of raised eyebrow yet naive childlike expression! Just this March the duo launched their two latest collections! Their cool iconic BASE frame design has given them lot’s of space for endless variations that have resulted in the Metro Collection and the Barber Collection.

Firstly, the Metro Collection is homage to London and it’s tube map. What makes this obvious is it’s use of some vibrant colours and a more curved arm. With these being just a little more abstract and edgy, the Barber Collection is more about a kind of nostalgia. Vintage in the old English heritage sense is the driving force behind these designs! Styles vary and it’s amazing how much you can do by just cutting off pieces of a frame here and there, creating some interesting looks that include a futuristic style cateye!

Termite Eyewear has one of the most original designs around and if you’re open to new materials like Birchwood, you’re in for a real treat with these sunglasses. Materials, shapes and colours all make up a unique accessory that none of us will be sorry to carry with us! We can be proud now that being environment friendly has taken on a new level namely in fashion pieces! It just doubles the delight of wearing hopefully newly favorite sunglasses!
