WTT: Rosy Shades Of Pink

Pink is a great colour, often associated with teenagers and young girls. however this season one of  the hot colours is pink. This was seen in fashion shows such as Donna Karan, Bottega Veneta, Marni and Chanel.

You can expect to see pink in all its glory on the eyes, to the lips. So the real question is how to get this to work for you. Seeing a trend on the catwalks might look great but on the streets not so much. Pink is one of those colours that if care is not taken you can end up looking like an oversized bubblegum (which is not something people covet). While i love the colour pink (yes i do for all those who have now turned their nose down at me) i am still trying to figure out the best way to achieve this look.

If you had seen the Donna Karan show you would have seen the fushia colour framing the models eyes. Bobbi Brown have launched a limited edition Lilac Rose eye shadow palette which provides shades for all skin tones. The shades available is suited to create day time and night times looks.

To add colour to the cheeks pink is a great option. Smooch’s sugar rush is a great colour for paler skins as it brings a natural pink to the cheeks. If you want more of a shimmer to your cheeks then Bobbi Browns limited edition Shimmer Brick Compact is perfect.  For darker skins I would advice deep shades of pink such as Bobbi browns Award winning  Pot rouge for lips and cheeks in Raspberry. It is a cream colour which is suitable for all skin types and makes is easily blendable to the skin.

Adding pink to the lips can give you a natural look or a more dramatic effect depending on the look you are trying to achieve. Personally I love applying pinks to my lips( only recently since i was always scared to look like a joke). Since I have a dark skin tone I go for deep pinks instead of your fuschia and bubblegum pink. If you are someone that likes to wear gloss  then the Lilac Rose collection from Bobbi Brown is perfect. There are two shades available the lilac rose and pink which contains Avocado, jojoba and camomile oils for moisture to the lips. Looking for intense colour to the lips opt for Paul and Joe ….. lipstick. Lizearle provides sheer colours from their signature colours such as Damask Rose for olive and dark skin tones and Sweet Pea for paler skins.

If you are looking to go pink this summer there are great ways to achieve this trend for all skin tones. Remember everything is possible, tweaking and customisation is needed to make this trend work for you.
